Happy Friday Mammakazes! Hope you all are doing well and your kids aren’t suffering from this crazy virus that has hit our hood. It includes a sore throat and fever. And induces cabin fever in kids AND THEIR MOMS who are stuck inside during the recuperation period.

Anyway. If you are a mommy who is INDEED stuck inside playing CLUE or worse CANDYLAND (Lord Licorice FREAKS ME OUT!) for the umpteenth time — honey, you NEED a cocktail. And since you’re not going anywhere until that fever breaks …have TWO.

Since I’m all about the ANTIOXIDANTS these days, I decided to do a pomegranate based drink. Also notice, nutrition info…so you can feel less guilty about your consumption!  You’re welcome.

CAMPARI, GRAPEFRUIT & POMEGRANATE COCKTAIL

1 1/2 cups     Grapefruit or Orange juice
1 1/2 cups     Pomegranate juice
1 1/2 cups     Ice cubes, plus more for serving
3/4 cup          Campari
6 twists of orange zest or 6 thin slices of seedless orange

Combine grapefruit (or orange) juice, pomegranate juice and ice cubes in a blender. Blend until the ice is very finely chopped and the mixture is foamy and pale pink. Transfer to a pitcher and stir in Campari. Serve over ice, garnished with a twist or slice of orange.  MAKES 6 SERVINGS.

NUTRITION INFORMATION: Per serving: 145 calories; 0 g fat (0 g sat, 0 g mono); 0 mg cholesterol; 26 g carbohydrate; 0 g protein; 0 g fiber; 5 mg sodium; 213 mg potassium.
Nutrition bonus: Vitamin C (38% daily value).
2 Carbohydrate Servings
Exchanges: 1 fruit, 1 carbohydrate (other), 1 alcohol equivalent

YUMMY! And remember, don’t feel guilt and drive.
