My name is Toni. I am a writer, a wife (of perfekt husband Randy) and the mom of a 7 year old girl, Julia. I

live in a suburb of Los Angeles that is sooo suburban I might as well be living in Blue Springs, Missouri (which is where I actually spent a few of my formative years).  We’re talking housing developments, cul de sacs, AYSO soccer, a Hometown Buffet… Not necessarily the place two self-described urban hipsters saw themselves upon graduating from college. But it’s actually the dream place for a child to grow up. And let’s face it, when you have kids, it becomes ABOUT the kids. (Not to mention the people here are fabulous! I’ve made some of the truest and best friends of my life out here. You ladies know who you are!)

Anyway, since I had far from the perfekt childhood, it has been my obsession goal to give Julia the perfekt childhood…when I’m not feeling like I’m screwing up, that is.

As an Army Brat, I grew up globetrotting (Italy, Germany, Panama, Blue Springs) . I came to L.A. to go to film school. I was sidetracked by motherhood when Julia came along. And actually, it has been the greatest joy and adventure of my life. And as a result of being her mommy, I have discovered a whole new world of things I can make amusing (or annoying depending on your sensibilities) observations about.

Julia is an only child and I make myself sick with the guilt of that. But hey, it’s more fodder for the website. Right?

So now that Julia has recently turned 7 and I have PLENTY of fodder from the last few years and more time (she’s in school SIX HOURS A DAY!) I have decided to direct my frustrations talents to this website. And hopefully, in expressing myself others will find something useful in it too. Or at least get a chuckle out of it.
