Alltop, confirmation that I kick ass

After a long break (my longest since I started posting last April) MAMMAKAZE is back!

While I felt guilty about not posting for so long, I have to admit, it also felt good just hanging with the family. No pressures.  But now I’m ready to get back to the business of mommyhood and all that entails. And it entails A LOT! And let’s face it, I have a LOT to say.

I look forward to the New Year for many reasons, not the least of which because LAST YEAR SUCKED! But, I’m not complaining.. too much. We’re still standing. And that’s something. That’s a lot in fact.

And truth be told, there were good times too in 2009. In fact, I’ll do my TOP TEN WORST AND BEST of 2009 LIST this week because I’m sure you haven’t had your fill of those already.

Also I’ve got big plans for Mammakaze this year. I want to open a store section in which I will feature mom-related items as well as my own line of snarky greeting cards. Because let’s face it, a Hallmark card doesn’t always say what you want it to say… their in-house counsel won’t let them.

Needless to say, I don’t have an in-house counsel, though I may well wish I did upon my expansion.

Anyway, that’s the plan. I’ll keep ya posted.

Meanwhile, please come back regularly and tell a friend who’ll tell a friend who’ll tell a friend and so on and so on….

HAPPY NEW YEAR. May this year bring you all much prosperity and fewer dishes.

Well, today I begin my official holiday vacation. So my posts will be sporadic between now and New Year’s Day. Not that you’ll be checking MAMMAKAZE. I know you all have better things to do. You know. Like spend time with family. Cook fabulous turkey dinners with all the trimmings. Get blotto at the neighbor’s New Year’s Eve party and rearrange your other neighbor’s lighted reindeer so that they look like they’re humping.

Yeah. That happened to me.  And I had to explain to Julia what they were doing. “Playing leap frog,” I lied. Thanks, Kevin.

Anyhow,  I wanted to wish you all a wonderful holiday season. Enjoy the time with your family. Make memories. Love each other. And especially love and enjoy your children. They are a great gift. Plus they’ll take care of you when you’re old so be nice to them now… Cuz payback’s a bitch, especially when you’re immobile in a wheelchair.

Hello MAMMAKAZES. Hope you had a fabu Thanksgiving weekend. I did, until I came down with the swine flu Saturday night. (Look for a post on it later this week when I’m not so weak).

But being laid up with the chills and body aches won’t stop me from shopping. That’s because I have the internet and today is CYBER MONDAY! Oh, yeah. Cyber Monday, the Black Friday of Internet Shopping. Where you can get good deals (and very likely free shipping) without ever having to leave the comfort of your home. Or in my case, bed.

The irony is, if I had just stayed home and done all my shopping on the internet to begin with instead of going out on Black Friday, I might not have this dag-ratted flu to begin with. I’m convinced that’s when I got it. Then again, it might have been on The Day Before Thanksgiving Wednesday while shopping at Trader Joes. Or standing in the pie line at Marie Calendars on Thursday morning to get the chocolate cream pie for Randy the perfekt husband and his brother Roger.

I don’t know.

I do know, this H1N1 flu is not going to stop me from my doing my online holiday shopping. Not as long as I have a blanket, a cup of tea, my Tamilfu and a toilet within barfing distance. I’m good.

NOTE: And a quick reminder that if you’re shopping at AMAZON.COM, do it through this website as I get credit! Scroll to the AMAZON icon on the left margin and CLICK on it. It’ll take you to Amazon and you can order from there.

Thanks for your continued support and let the holidays begin!

Yes, MAMMAKAZES. Countdown to turkey time. Time to clean, truss, stuff and whip up. And I’m just talking about myself.

It’s a manic week of preparation that climaxes in 30 minutes of gluttony… Which is then followed by another four weeks of sporadic gluttony that then inspires months of those annoying Nurtrisystem and Bally’s commercials. Ugh.

In addition to the feeding frenzy, there’s the  shopping frenzy followed by the hitting the store for returns and to cash in your gift card frenzy. I’m exhausted just thinking about it.  But I’ll do it. Know why? It’s tradition. And what is life without tradition? Well, it’s a lot more relaxing and stress-free, that’s for sure. But then, it wouldn’t be the holidays without stress. And let’s be honest. I’d rather be stressed out about making sure my toilets are clean for company than whether or not I’ll die from the pox during the long, cold winter, like the Pilgrims.

For this I am thankful.

Due to a tsunami of mombligations, posting at MAMMAKAZE has been sporadic this week. We resume our regularly scheduled snarkiness on Monday.

Mammakaze is having posting trouble. I blame it on the wind because, well, why not?

I will resume regular snarkiness tomorrow.
